A few honest answers before your first wax

How long should the hair be?
About a quarter inch — roughly two weeks of growth — gives the cleanest result. If it's longer, that's okay, it still works.
Is it going to hurt?
The first time is the most sensitive, and it gets easier as the hair grows back finer over a few sessions. Tell your esthetician if you're nervous and they'll talk you through it.
How do I prep?
Gently exfoliate the day before, skip lotions and oils the day of, and mention any retinoids or acne medication you're using beforehand.
After your wax
Avoid heat, tight clothing, and heavy sweat for about a day, then exfoliate lightly a few days later to keep ingrowns away.
